A new website www.liveintheeasternbay.co.nz is due to go live in the next couple of weeks. The website developed by Toi EDA’s Marketing Manager Nicola Burgess is targeted at possible New Zealand movers or overseas immigrants to the region. It will have jobs, regional skills shortages, real estate opportunities, business opportunities as well as lifestyle information.
Nicola Burgess says "There's always been a steady interest in the job vacancies page on www.whakatane.com with over 600 page views every month. It's in the top 3 most visited pages and it works. I also know that many immigrants tend to ‘stumble upon’ the Eastern Bay almost by accident. They may be aware of Tauranga, but don’t discover us until they start driving around the North Island looking for a place to live. The aim is to get onto their 'list' of possible places to live prior to them leaving their country of origin. We are planning a Google Adwords campaign in the UK and South Africa, putting the Eastern Bay of Plenty into their minds as a region that offers lots of opportunities.
We are working with the regions larger employers to ensure we have reciprocal links with their websites and can list their skills shortages and job vacancies. The job vacancy page will be a free listing, so we encourage all businesses to list job vacancies there.
