October 2009
Toi-EDA hosted the first meeting of the EBOP Food and Beverage businesses recently. An excellent turnout of businesses enjoyed the chance to meet with other small “foodie” businesses. Mary Hermanson ran a workshop looking at the advantages and barriers to forming a cluster and what the participants wanted their sector to be in ten years time.
There was unanimous agreement that forming a cluster would be beneficial and at the next meeting the group will be looking at setting this up possibly under the umbrella of Food Bay of Plenty.
Toi-EDA has a database of 39 food and beverage related businesses and would like to hear from anyone they may have missed.
