First Tourism Conference a stunning success
More than 40 tourism professionals attended a one day conference at the Surf and Sand conference centre in Ohope recently. Nelson based tourism consultant Craig Wilson ran two interactive workshops and two Tourism New Zealand staff originally from the Eastern Bay of Plenty spoke about the opportunities for local operators to tap into Tourism New Zealand activities.
Operators really enjoyed the chance to network with each other which is really important in a smaller region trying to increase the length of time visitors stay. Being aware of what other operators have to offer and on selling within the region strengthens the whole industry.
