A promotional booklet is being prepared to highlight the opportunity around Kawerau for further wood processing industries. Kawerau has industrial land, geothermal energy, skilled service industries, rail and a central location that make it attractive to further investment. Toi-EDA is working to promote these advantages.
Supporting and in conjunction with this initiative is the development of a regional forest industry/wood processing strategy for the Bay of Plenty funded by NZTE.
