Charelle is a staunch advocate for supporting local and pākihi Māori. Sole company director of Peppers Building Supplies her business model is uniquely EBOP which is a 36 year old timber and building supplier in the region.

Community focused she has held the Chairperson role of the Rangitaiki Community Board which she had a fundamental role through the 2017 Edgecumbe Floods. Charelle was recognised as a leader in the 2019 New Zealand Community Board Awards as an influential leader and in 2018 EBOP Chamber Awards as well as her business winning numerous national Buildlink excellence awards.

In 2021-22  she assisted several marae in renovation planning, project management and execution in PGF Marae upgrades programme whilst working alongside Te Runanga o Ngāti Awa. She provides a SME lens to the board where she hopes to create more equitable business opportunities to locals through leadership and strategic decision-making.
