Toi EDA Helps Minginui Nursery staff to get their driving licence

Working alongside the management of Minginui Nursery and leaders from Te Runanga o Ngati Whare, we were able to put in place a staff development program which encouraged them to study for and pass their car licence.

Many of them had been driving for some time but did not have a licence making it difficult for them to get out of town.

The team at the nursery set up in house coaching sessions, and we called in the assistance of Eastbay REAP who organised the NZTA Mobile Licencing unit to be setup for a day in Murupara. Several staff members were successful in passing their learner licence and are now well on the way to sitting their restricted licence.

Three students were ready to sit for their class 2 licence so that they could add more staff the team doing deliveries. Toi EDA ran a class 2 learner course followed by a class 2 full licence course, with all three passing their licence.
